Joe Madsen? Really? I can't imagine that he will be there at the end. Vtech has a RS Freshman, Andrew Miller that is going to be excellent. I expect him to be ranked higher than Madsen will at the end of the year.

Logan Thomas and Jarrett Boykin's numbers will far surpass anything that Smith & Austin put up. Guaranteed!

Anyway, publicity is nice and all, but where is the analysis? Where is the back-forth. Do you really think Madsen will be that great? I just read that WVU lost Jenkins this year, I can't imagine that Madsen will be able to have such a good year with the left guard missing, and if the left guard is missing, Smith better take agriculture classes, as he will be picking himself up off the ground an awful lot in a new system.

    Yes Joe Madsen!
Analysis on a post that highlights preseason pub? I will leave the analysis for comments and the fall on such issues. And I will highlight all the pub I want in any fashion I want. Joe is a known quantity. As for where he will be at the end of the season we shall find out.

As for your assertion that the Va Tech tandem will out distance Geno and Tavon that is just ignorance on your part. Where did you get your crystal ball? I will take my two over yours every day and four times on game day.

As for Josh Jenkins he is one guard. He would be missed for sure, but the Jury is out as to whether he will play this season. We shall see.

As for Smith and agriculture classes I would point out to you that he plays out of the gun. You might want to consider that before making your blanket assertions.

Are you a betting man? Since your so sure about your tandem do you wish to give me odds? If so, please let me know. And what would be the measure of success? Yardage, TD's, Total offense, wins? Anyway, if you wish to make it interesting let me know.

Just came across your blog and wanted to contact you. Like you, I am a big sports fan and have a blog site. Unfortunately, I have had some Va. Tech-like visitors that come on just to stir up trouble. I wanted to ask your opinions about how to handle that. Do you think it is best to let the comments be aired out and to engage them in debate? Or, do you think that it is best to just ignore them and supress the comments away from the light of day? You strike me as one that believes in the first amendment and would not do anything to stiffle debate and the free exchange of ideas, so I cannot imagine that you would suppress anything. Some blog operators that I have spoken with are straight from the Fox News crowd and will not allow anything that is remotely critical of their own opinions to be posted. What do you think about that? Ridiculous, right? I mean seriously, why do us bloggers get into this to begin with. If you are scared to respond, just close down your blog and play around with the wierdos on sports message boards. Look forward to your thoughts regarding this.

@wvlawcreep You simply don't get it. I'll post what I please. I'll engage or ignore as I please. Your self entitled blather never amounts to anything of interests. You claimed that you had a clue about football but rarely post anything of note. As for the several posts of yours that have not been published to MY blog that is my choice.

Not one of those posts were worth responding to. The only one that had anything to do with the subject of football was an inquiry you made about exploiting the Cover 2 out of an empty set. Of course the empty set is used to force defenses out of a cover 2. Whoops you didn't realized that I knew that did you? It poses a numbers problem on the trips or quad side of the ball. The problem with your example however was that it said any form of Cover 2 and that really doesn't describe the defensive formation completely. The truth is that you threw out a generic situation and asked for a specific answer. You didn't say what type of cover 2 you were referring too, but suffice to say it simply is a numbers game that that defense can't win on the overloaded side of the ball. And an empty set is also problematic as a generic term as it could be referring to a two tight scenario but alas I will assume that you are referencing either a 3 2 split or 4 1 split of some sort for purposes of our discussion. This blog isn't yours and this Czar wants you to realize that I can go toe to toe with your juvenile posting antics if I choose to do so. On common occasion that your youthful posts don't stimulate further discussion they won't be published on my site.

I would point out that Virginia Tech Ball has come to battle but does so with at least something germane to the original post. Rarely, if ever have you done so.

I don't have a problem with debate. I don't even have a problem with some ribbing. But I am using my First Amendment rights to post as I please. I am also using my 1st Amendment right to associate as I please. If you don't please me I don't have to associate with you or your thoughts. The other thing I would point out is that I am not a "State actor" and as such I am not under any obligation to let you say anything. (I know that that infuriates you but if you need a forum to air your grievances please avail yourself of your right to write and post on your own blog.)

I am sorry that this Constitutional lesson is a hard one for you to learn, but when you get out of high school hopefully you will learn about the Bill of Rights.

Who is this creep? I bet he is some left wing nut job, that collects govt paychecks to cover his addiction to porn.

The cover 2? Won't matter because the left guard is done for the year. You read it here first. The real question is what will Smith do when he's been sacked twice in a row: man up or fold?

Creep, reading about Marshall football is like gay porn. I don't condemn your lifestyle choice but I don't particularly want to see it.

Tech Ball- As far as Jenkins being out, we'll miss him, but I don't think it will be huge in this offense. As law geek pointed out, it's a shot gun offense. We'll usually see a 3 or 4 man front which means the guard is left on a double team. Other than that, the QB needs to recognize blitzes and get the ball out of his hands. With 5 eligible receivers, any blitz package is likely to result in a hot read and quick route.

Hate to admit this, but I think Va Tech is going to have a big year. They're flying under the radar which is good spot for them. Logan Thomas is probably going to surprise some people.
