Keith Tandy added to watch lists Nagurski and Thorpe

In addition to his being mentioned for the Bednarik he has now garnered the interest of two more prestigious awards the Nagurski and Thorpe awards. Congratulations Keith. This continued pub is really turning the tide on previous evaluations for this young man. If you were to read the pub on him after leaving Tampa Florida 2 years ago you wouldn't even believe he should get another start. This just shows what a short memory and a lot of work can do for a guy who remains on an island for all of his career. Anyway, I am happy for Keith as he is getting the notice he truly deserves. Let us hope that the Offensive coordinators he faces have ignored the papers though. If so pick sixes could be plentiful.

Pick 6s. Are you kidding me? When was the last time WVU had a pick 6 that wasn't going against it? Probably the last time Bronko Busick was in a convenient store.

Its too bad that you guys can't use a real defense.

@Virginia Tech Ball Really??? VaTech is going to call out another team for criminality? Vic Much? WVU will go rap sheet for rap sheet with you but we simply can not keep up on that score board.

Hey we just set a date against JMU I am guessing we should be terrified as they handled your butts last year. If you are going to be a Tech Troll at least realize that the warts you uncover might be your own.

That's a fair retort, and I will acknowledge Tech's warts if you will acknowledge WVU's. I think that the NFL's code of conduct was substantially enhanced due to a couple of WVU grads, but that isn't football, and I want to talk football.

You are right JMU kicked us in the junk last year, and I am will not talk about that any further, as no self-respecting VT fan will.

When will WVU play VT in Fed-Ex? That would be a great game for both (reform) schools. At this point, I doubt the schools play other than in bowl games. But a neutral site would be great.

Also, will WVU's running game be of any note this year, or is there only going to be an air assault? Personally, I don't think that it will matter, as the Big [L]East doesn't have great defenses.

First off I acknowledge that WVU is afflicted with the same bone-headed-decision-makers that most if not all division one programs admit. Fact is that 17-23 year old men and women are prone to make stupid decisions.

A game with Va Tech at fed ex would be great on so many levels. I wish it would happen there or at some other "neutral" site. I agree that home and homes are a thing of the past unless the two schools would become conference foes again. As for when it will happen, I am not sure about Va Tech's willingness but Oliver Luck would be all for that series being reopened. The Black Diamond Trophy has been in Blacksburg long enough. BTW if we play in Miami or if stars align and we play in the National Championship please bring that trophy along as well.

WVU's running game may just be the most under-rated part of this offense. I can't tell you who will be the feature back but under the Holgorsen version of Air-Raid the run is featured more times than in the Mike Leach version of the same. As a matter of fact Oky-State had a 1000+ yard rusher last year. WVU has produced those for many years to date prior to Holgorsen's arrival. My guess is that the run will account for 40% of the yardage but the backs will account for 50% of the yardage when you include them in the passing attack. We have several players vying for the starting nod and for once I think that is due to abundance of talent rather than a lack of it. All of it is youthful though and so my guess is that the ones who hold on to the ball will get the nod. Holgorsen detests turnovers.

Your point on Big East defenses is lacking though as those defenses followed only the SEC in overall performance last season. Feel free to check me on that boast. WVU, UConn, Syracuse, USF, and it pains me to say it, sPitt all were blessed with good units. This season would likely boast similar talent for all of the above. But alas I am hopeful that WVU's offensive numbers will be gaudy.

We play two common appoinents this year that I know of Maryland and Marshall so I'll have to pay some attention to Va Tech this year for those reasons. I am guessing that the Orange Bowl is a fairly large likelihood for most potential Big East Champs this year but it seems that the Sugar and Fiesta are more prone to invite WVU so I don't know if we will be there or not. I do hope we get a chance to see each other again in a major bowl though.

Don't you think that big east defense are good because they play crappy offenses?

Look, comparing the ACC and the Big East in Football is like comparing Cinderella's sister's. Neither has much to brag about as a conference.

But I do think Tech will surprise some people this year and WVU should be competing for the Big East title so Miami may indeed be in these 2 teams. Both of which have been the saving grace of their respective conferences.
