White Ivy honored by Big East...

West Virginia quarterback Pat White, Mountaineer linebacker Mortty Ivy were reconized as the winners of the BIG EAST's weekly football honors for their efforts through the week ending Nov. 1.

White was tabbed as BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after he accounted for 230 yards of offense and figured in three touchdowns in West Virginia’s 35-13 win at Connecticut, keeping the Mountaineers alone in first place in the BIG EAST standings. He ran for a game-high 109 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries and completed 11 of 18 passes for 121 yards and another TD. White also surpassed career milestones of 4,000 rushing yards, 5,000 passing yards and 9,000 total yards.

Ivy was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after he had 10 tackles, a pass breakup and set up a Mountaineer touchdown with a 19-yard interception return in the fourth quarter to lead West Virginia to a 35-13 win at Connecticut. Ivy led a defense that registered its third consecutive second-half shutout and held Connecticut’s rushing offense — which was ranked 17th nationally — to 95 yards below its average.
