Why is the Orange Bowl on Wednesday night? How does that make any sense??

I wholeheartedly agree that it is an awful night for a Bowl Game. That said I am excited about that opportunity. And I am very hopeful that each of the members of this blog as well as the readers copy and paste the games to their comment and then pick the games. The honorable thing for folks like Orangefan and WVLawCreep to do is to participate in the pickem. I mean as often as they have liked to point out my lackluster performance on the Syracuse game I would think that they would relish the opportunity to teach me how to do it.

Do they have the guts to put their picks on the line?

    We shall see.

For the first set, I'll take Temple straight up, but Wyoming to cover the 6 1/2 they're getting. Ohio +2 1/2 vs Utah State wins outright as does LA LaFayette +5 vs SD State.

All of my picks are straight up. As the lines change from now till game time I just decided to make all of my picks by December 15th.

Reasons for the first group of picks: Wyoming is a much better team than folks realize. They can score points in bunches. Young but explosive. Serviceable defense but sometimes also porous. Temple is not Temple has a solid Defense but the don't impress me as a team that can keep pace with Wyoming in terms of scoring points.

Ohio is a very good Mac team. They can light up a score board and are poised to do just that at their bowl appearance. Utah State is a decent team but will not be able to overcome Ohio's offensive output.

La Lafayette is playing more or less a home game. I see them winning this game for pretty much that reason.

I pick the Thundering Hurd straight up even though they are getting 4 points, and FIU is playing for the most part a home game. Marshall has some hogs on their defensive front that can stifle the efforts of the FIU offense. I see this game being decided by at most 10 points.
