Will Thomas to transfer to WV State

  • West Virginia University guard Will Thomas has found a new home.
  • Right here in the Kanawha Valley.

According to Mountaineer coach Bob Huggins, Thomas, a 6-foot-5 junior, is transferring after summer school classes are completed to West Virginia State to play for coach Bryan Poore.

Thomas played in 23 games last season for WVU (3.1 minute average) with a .1 per game scoring average. The 215-pound point guard is from East Cleveland, Ohio.

A week ago it was revealed ex-Mountaineer Dee Proby had landed at NAIA power Oklahoma City University. wvGazette

    Legacy 1000 Club

I was ask by one of the volunteers, Thomas Kugel, who is trying to get this up and running to post this information about the Legacy 1000 Club. Its primary concern is becoming a fundraising engine for the WVU Basketball team. Much like the 11oo club was for the football team. The goal of the organization is to get 1000 $1000.00 pledges for the MAC for donations used to construct the WVU Basketball practice facility. This club is hosting a Raffle this year called Hot Summer Night Huggsfest: Tickets are $100.00 per ticket and the event will be held at the Charleston Marriott. You must either be a member of the club or a guest of a member of the club to participate in the function. If at least 600 tickets are sold the winner of the raffle will get either a Porshe Boxter or Cayman or His and Hers Subarus or $35,000.00. The contact info for this Club and event are as follows: Legacy 1000 Club P. O. Box 2629 Charleston, WV 25329. The MAC Liaison is J. Locklier (800)433-2072. J.Locklier@mail.wvu.edu

Truck Bryant Joins Jo Maz on indefinite suspension list.

Darryl Bryant, a West Virginia guard and Brooklyn native who starred at St. Raymond’s in The Bronx, has been suspended indefinitely.

Bryant was suspended because of his involvement in a traffic accident outside of Morgantown early Wednesday, after which he left the scene, according to the Charleston Gazette. He was charged with four misdemeanors, including leaving the scene of an accident. No one was injured in the accident and Bryant is free on bond.

This is no good. I hope it gets sorted out soon.

Pat White interview on Miami's Site.

PAT WHITE being Pat White. This is a great interview. I encourage you to watch and listen.

Class act always. Hungry and Humble is not just a slogan. And for all the doubters out there Miami is working him out solely as a QB. Maybe ESPN can get that straight.

WVU's Big East Basketball slate anounced by Big East.

    WEST VIRGINIA
Home Cincinnati, Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Syracuse, Villanova
Away Connecticut, DePaul, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Providence, St. John’s, Seton Hall, USF, Villanova

For the rest of the schedule for Big East teams click on linky.

As you can see WVU will play sPitt, Nova, and and Seton Hall twice. Of course ND has to be played at their house. It seems we always play them 3 to 1 there vs here. The Home slate is hard to argue with though.
