The number 10 recruit is a WR, Deontay McManis

He is listed as a 4 star prospect in both the Rivals and Scout publications. He touted offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, UConn, South Carolina, Michigan to list a few. He is from Baltimore Maryland and was recruited by Daren Roberts. Coach Roberts is looking like he is going to do just fine in his new role with the Mountaineers. Deontay's measurable(s) are listed as follows: 6.2 215 lbs and runs a 4.5 40. It appears that the skill positions are starting to fall in line for this staff. As is always the case verbals are verbals but what I saw last week in terms of recruiting momentum is something to feel great about.

    Welcome home Deontay

Your going to need a lot better than a want to be wide reciver like Mcmanus to keep an edge over the Herd. Doc has us rolling hard on the recurtng trail and on the field so sure to god hope you dont believe youre going to escape again like last year. Im telling all you wv homers bloggors that team was a joke. You guys think Holgersen is god and he has never evenbeen head coach before. cant wait to wipe the cokcy smiles off your faces and ruin tyour opener once and for all. Good luck you will needit! Bingo, Y2K. Could not have said it better myself. These fools from the New Jersey College in southern, Pa, think WVU is so great. Get real. Real West Virginians know that football is best in Cabell Co. Why do you think Doc got out of that dump? We will beat your ass like we did on the basketball court this year with that drunk Huggins.

@y2k Wow delusion is running rampant down at Marshall. I am shocked. How many games have you won against WVU? Answer none. Why you would delude yourself into thinking this year is different is beyond me. Please bring more to debate than abject hate and jealously.

Get this through your unobjective mind, Geek - WE GAVE YOU THE GAME LAST YEAR!!!! You did nothing to deserve that game. This year you yinzers are going down.

"Marshall coach Doc Holliday, the Mountaineers' recruiting coordinator the past eight seasons, brings inside knowledge of his former team. Former WVU defensive coordinator JaJuan Seider is Marshall's running backs coach and recruiting coordinator, while three ex-graduate assistants at WVU have similar roles at Marshall and will soon help the Herd drop hell on WVU." Nuff said.

Tis laughable that Marshall fans have to come here to simply flame. If you wish to debate make a point worthy of response. Y2k what have you said that means anything? I give you credit for at least having a handle. But you don't have an x or o clue about football. WVU doesn't want Doc. As for Seider I think he is a good Coach. As for any "insider " information Marshall has that is laughable.

lawgeek - wrong again. What's new? Y2K is busting you all up and down. Like Frank Beamer's fuzzy goutier, you are one dumb apple that fell off the cart. Start making sense or drop the pretense of debate. We are here for hardcore football conversation. Keep up with the game or get off this site.

Trash talk from Marshall fans...really?? I find that kind of funny.

You have to win one first, then maybe, doubtfully, we'll actually try not to look over you on the schedule. Keep in mind this is very difficult, seeing you all the way down in mediocrity in Conference USA.

And make no mistake, Doc holiday is at Marshall because Oliver Luck was looking outside the program for the next hire. Given the choice he wanted Dana Holgorsen. Doc is a career assistant with good recruiting ties. But recruits will only follow if he can prove he can win.

So you might want to wait and see if you can become bowl eligible before setting your sites on a target that is still too high for you to reach. We needed 8 minutes in the 4th quarter to beat you last year, this year we plan on playing...well at least until halftime...then the subs will probably come in.

As for inside knowledge, Doc now knows the defensive staff and about 1/2 of the starters. If you're counting on that as an advantage, you better break some NCAA rules and practice some more.

    Marshall fans...really? You're green!

I tell you what I find funny - a school with absolutely no championships on any level talking trash to anyone. Try winning something that means something. In Huntington, there are trophies for National Championships. All you losers have is ass beatings from bowl games and lame excuses for why you lost. Doc left Morgantown because he realized that WVU is going no where. Marshall is on the rise. Mark that down. He will get the talent to take Marshall to the top. Wasn't he one of the members of the "best coaching staff in America?" Nothing has changed, he is still one of the best. WVU is trying its hardest to get away from the series with Marshall because your AD is terified WVU is going to lose. That is a fact and you can't dispute that one. The loss comes in a couple of months.

I like the way this is shaping up compared to previous years' classes. I can't remember having this many verbals so early in the summer.

Granted, a verbal is only as good as the paper it's written on. And, we'll have to wait and see if everyone uses this next year to keep grades.

Welcome to the family Deontay, hope to see you in the end zone in Morgantown. Go 'Eers!

BTW - The hate from the Cowbell County crowd is laughable. The herd "gave" us that game last year? Really? Well, thank you I guess. Whatever it takes to get you through your days. Don't worry. WVU won't need to rely on the kindness of strange herds this year or next. After that, you can go back to crying on the Capitol steps in Charleston. Brush the mothballs off Coach P and he can mouth off about how WVU remains afraid to play them.

Q: How many beat-downs does it take to get the herd to stfu?
    A: Always one more.

Again, and as always, laughable. - ZING

First it should be noted that I have let some Marshall folks jump into the debate. And until they joined the debate I have never had to moderate the postings. I have no problem with them bringing forth debate-worthy topics and even a little "rival-like" banter but personal attacks shall not be tolerated. So posts with that type of garbage shall not be posted. My blog my rules.

As for some things posted by Y2Kaysen and wvlawcreep are you guys actually going to write something worth a response. So far it has been nothing but the same drivel that a jealous little brother would espouse. If your best arguments are that you have won Division 1aa championships please go back to drawing boards and come up with something that matters. I'll take a Gator Bowl appearance over that any day of the week. To even compare the BCS bowls to that accomplishment is sad very sad. The Herd count em has a total of 0 victories over WVU in Football.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts. But understand if you make personal attacks nobody shall see them.
