Sports Bet has WVU an 8pt favorite for this Saturday's Tilt. That is of course if the game happens at all. Rumors abound as to how to overcome the landfall of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hanna. Some folks have reported that Wake Forest could be the location of the game if Hanna doesn't behave herself. But as of tonight the game is still on for the ESPN covered 4:30 kickoff at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, NC. The official ECU athletic website indicates that it shall give regular updates on the status of the game. The game is to be carried on ESPN National TV as well as streaming on ESPN360. I shall keep this blog-post open and will update the photographs from both Weather.com and the NOAA site.
The most recent update to this post is as follows:
•The game will kick off at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6 (based on the best information available at this time)
•The parking lots will open three hours prior to kickoff
•Tents and tow cookers are prohibited in all parking lots
•Fans are encouraged to carpool (double-occupancy preferred)
•Softball Lot moved to Belk Lot
•All general public parking spaces in Belk Lot eliminated•No anticipated changes to all handicapped lots
•An update on the situation will be released by ECU officials mid-day Friday.

SWEET! I hope they do move it to Wake. I'll be there! Unfortunately, the late game time hits right when the storm is supposed to hit. Of course, as much as that thing's been wiggling around, it's hard to tell where or when it'll hit.
Some issues that are disconcerting: 1. ECU and WVU have no other corresponding dates to make up the game the rest of the year. So it is either play or have only 11 games.
2. Weather shall be a factor. Whether the game is moved to Winston -Salem or not the game shall have lots of water to contend with. The Storm projection only projects the path of the center of the storm, thus a much wider area shall have to deal with the weather. Point is that it looks to be both a windy and wet game.
I wouldn't be so worried quite yet. It's still quite possible that this storm will have only a minimal impact on the weather of the game. Keep in mind it is still only a tropical storm and for it to reach Greenville by gametime, it will have to speed up significantly. My guess is, if this thing speeds up, it will not strengthen very much and a Cat 1 hurricane isn't much to worry about except for heavy sporadic rain and the heavy winds of a smaller hurricane are typically contained close to the center. Currently, this thing is projected to land Saturday night and if that is the case, the game in Greenville will be well over before anything more than a few moderate gusts would be noticeable. If this game is moved to Winston, weather will likely not be a factor as there is no way this storm will be large enough to affect Winston-Salem by Saturday evening.
It's 22 hours from game time and this thing has sped up, but fortunately hasn't strengthened much. The timing is still right for it to be right on top of Greenville around game time. I still don't think they will have any reason to cancel the game. Places on the coast aren't evacuating as the storm doesn't appear likely to become anything larger than a Cat. 1.
